Seminary Retreat August 27, 2008
Wow, seminary life is refreshing and relaxing, don’t let the critics fool you! If each seminary day is as today, the thought of studying for an extra few years is somewhat inviting.
However, from what we were told in orientation it appears that it would be somewhat of a dream (or strong delusion?) to think that every day will be like today.
Whatever tomorrow brings, today will be held in the category of ”precious memories”. We enjoyed two great messages, another couple devotionals, solid fellowship, not-fast-food, and some invigorating volleyball and soccer to boot!

Speaking of meat...the Cedar Lake Christian Conference Center boasts some great eating in a beautfiul setting!

The Fun memories

The happy memories

The difficult memories: looking good, but not feeling so well!

The precious memories

The awe-inspiring memories

- Now we see through a glass dimly. . .

- …but then face to face.
1 Corinthians 13:12 …now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
Living separately from Amy as we wait expectantly for our baby girl has been harder than we ever thought it would be. I can’t wait to see her again, face to face! Separation from the one you love is not fun, not normal, and not recommended. It lends itself to lonliness, extended periods of reflection and quite often, a lot of restlessness.
The spiritual lesson I’m beginning to grasp through this is that all Christians can relate to this. We are all separated from the one we love most dearly and cling to most nearly. Jesus is in heaven, and we are on earth.
Lets pray with renewed resolve: Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus, come quickly.
