There is this thing called love. It’s pretty dynamic, we’re finding more and more.
First of all, it casts out fear. Deep-rooted, gripping, paralyzing fear. Gone.
It makes deaf ears listen. Hard hearts soft. It makes relationships thrive and barren lives fruitful. There is no end to the things that love can do, it seems.
What a great love God has given us through casting away our sin. What a great love that drove Him to sacrifice His only son so that we could know His love! What a great love He has given us, that He would also make it possible for us to love Himself and other people – what an amazing opportunity!!
Summertime means internship time for a seminary student – and wow, how educational these summers are! Here there are real people to love, real situations to see God work in, a pulpit to fill with God’s glory every Sunday. Here are the elderly and sick to visit, enjoy, minister to. Here are the disillusioned and the joyful, the critical and the sad, the encouraging and the lonely. God loves them all. And He is slowly but surely giving us His heart.
It is a wonderful experience.
